Comments on the wine
We think 2004 is the best Cyan vintage to date, with a complex, elegant and balanced style. With a production that rarely exceeds 50,000 bottles, Cyan is made from 60-90 year-old Tinta de Toro vines (the local type of Tempranillo) growing on very poor, sandy soil, which tend to produce wines of great depth and elegance. Over and above the characteristics of the fruit, we can also appreciate fine toasted notes from the new French oak barrels in which the wine has matured. The result is a creamy, velvety wine that retains on the one hand the traditional Toro elements of power and depth, and on the other a delicate refinement. A lush, seductive wine at an excellent price.
